Keywords A standard field on the Properties screens that can be used to add topical or other terms that help to describe your Content. Keywords can be displayed publicly. This is different from Tag(s) which are meant for internal organization and can be viewed only by Administrative users.
Excerpts A subsection of a Document. You can apply metadata and commerce terms to specific page ranges within a Document, enabling you to do things like sell individual chapters or you can load a journal issue as a single PDF, and display the articles separately as Excerpts. Excerpts also let you generate downloadable PDF versions of complete Documents, or subsections. Excerpts do not appear in search results, as they are components of other Documents.
