Custom URL (for Documents) The Custom URL (Figure 34) allows you to specify the desired web address for the Document. This can be useful if you want to establish naming conventions or persistent URLs so that users can reliably find their way back to content in the future, and to facilitate linking back and forth between content hosted on Tizra and content hosted elsewhere. Important Note: When creating a Custom URL, only characters that are legal in URLs -- letters, numbers, hyphens and underscores -- may be used. The Custom URL cannot contain any spaces. Once a Document is published to Live, any changes to the Custom URL will be made Live AS SOON AS THE CHANGES ARE SAVED. In other words, changes to the Custom URL do not have to be published, only saved. The Custom URL displays after your site’s domain name. For example: If the domain for your Tizra Publisher site is: ebooks.yourcompany.com and your Document Title is: Apollo 11 Mission Report, then… You might create a Custom URL such as: apollo_11_mission_report The Live URL for your Document would then be: ebooks.yourcompany.com/apollo_11_mission_report Note: Values entered in the Custom URL field MUST BE UNIQUE. If the same value is used for more than one item on your site, you will receive an error message and the Custom URL will not save. User Tip: The Custom URL may have Search Engine Optimization benefits and provide you with a higher ranking in Google and other search engines and therefore create more customer traffic.
