Pricing Important Note: The Pricing field (Figure 171) is required. Figure 171 There are two options in the Pricing field: Free: Select this option if you want to create a Free Offer that will automatically set the Price to “0” and that a User can use only once. This is similar to a coupon that a customer may redeem at a brick and mortar store: once the terms of the coupon have been applied and the coupon has been turned in, the customer cannot receive the terms on the coupon again. For example: You may want to create a free 3-day trial offer for a Collection. You would select the Free radio button in the Pricing field on the Offer Properties screen. In the Duration field you would enter “3.” Your Users would then have access to the Collection for 3 days and would not be able to take advantage of the Offer again. Note: If you want your Document, Excerpt or Collection always to be free (not for access just one time) then on the Document, Excerpt or Collection Properties screen, select Yes in the Make this Document (or Excerpt or Collection) Free field. Users will have free access to the Content and will not be required to register to obtain access. Not Free: The Not Free button is the default selection. Leave it selected if you want Users to be charged for access to the Document, Excerpt or Collection content. If you leave this selected, enter the amount being charged in the Price field (described below) and leave “US Dollars” as the default (or select the monetary type from the dropdown list). Price: Enter the amount you want to charge Users for access to the Content. Entering “0” in this field automatically configures your offer as a free trial that can only be accessed once. Note: If you wish to create a limited-time free Offer and then charge for the Content after the free Offer expires, you must create another Offer for the Content.
