A Beginner’s Guide to Making Design Changes This set of instructions is best for those who are new to the design change process. In the meantime, we’ve written these steps with a beginner in mind, to minimize the possibility of confusion or lost work. 1. Confirm that no one else is working with the PRESENTATION tools. While the Tizra Publisher system can cope with changes by multiple users, it's easy to get confused and interfere with each other. 2. Create a backup copy of the Design currently on the Staging site. Creating a backup copy will prevent you from accidentally overwriting work that a previous user (or you) may have left in the staging area without saving. It also gives you a backup design to revert back to if you make any unwanted changes. To create the backup copy: A. From the Tizra Control Panel, go to PRESENTATION Library. B. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Save As... button. C. In the dialog box, enter a new Name for the backup design (for example: “current date staging backup") and click Save. 3. Apply the Design you want to work with to the Staging site. A. From the Tizra Control Panel, go to PRESENTATION Library. B. Find the design you want to work with from the Tizra Templates or the Your Designs list. If you want to use the Design that's currently being used on your Live website, look for the "Live" label in the Date Saved column. When you are new to the changing design process, the Tizra Templates are a good starting point. “Commerce” designs are geared toward selling content, supporting easy presentation of sales offers, while “Knowledge Management” designs are geared more toward knowledge management applications where content sales are not envisioned. C. Click the Apply button next to the design, and select Staging in the dialog box. !
