The default setting for the Is free access (disable access control) field (Figure 38) is No. This is the setting that you should use if you want to charge for the entire Document or any Excerpts associated with it. Note: Making a Document free overrides whatever setting you have made in the Global Site Access Control field (SETTINGS Access Control) and ALLOWS UNAUTHENTICATED USERS TO ACCESS ANY PART OF THE DOCUMENT without hitting any type of Paywall or Access Denied page. Making a Document free is a good strategy for promoting Content and getting Users interested in other parts of your web site offerings. User Tips: Even if the Document is not free, you can always create a free Excerpt, which will make any desired subsection publicly available. If you want to gather User information (such as name, email address, etc.) and force a registration on your web site in exchange for free access to the Document, leave this field with the default setting of No and then create a free Offer.
