Including Text Required for Full-Text Search in the PDF Note: Most of the time, text is already included in the PDF. If you can search for a term in the PDF within Adobe (Acrobat or Reader), then your text is present. If text is not present, one possible reason is that the files were scanned from print and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) was not run. These steps describe how to run OCR on your PDF. User Tip: If you are already in the PDF running OCR, you can also run the Optimizing the PDF for Online Publishing profile to help ensure best results when uploading and displaying your PDFs in Tizra. 1. In Adobe Acrobat, go to View Tools Text Recognition. 2. Select “In this file.” 3. In the Recognize Text dialog box, select the appropriate Pages and then click OK. 4. Once complete, you can save the PDF with a new name. You can now test the PDF by searching on a term in Adobe Acrobat. If you can now find the term, the PDF is ready for Tizra’s full-text search. ! i
