What to do with Logical Page Numbers in the PDF Before Tizra Upload Note: These steps are required ONLY if you want the printed page numbers to match the digital page numbers in the online content reader. See below for more information about Logical Page numbers. User Tip: If you are already in the PDF creating logical page numbers, you can run the Optimizing the PDF for Online Publishing profile to help ensure best results when uploading and displaying your PDFs in Tizra. Logical page numbering is a Tizra supported feature but is NOT required. Examples of Logical Page numbers include Roman numerals for introduction and other front matter, and then Arabic numbers thereafter (1, 2, 3 …). Basically, Logical Page numbers match their printed counterpart. Logical Page numbers are not required because every page of your Tizra published material can be linked to easily with a standard URL and, in most cases, whatever page number is printed on the page is unimportant. So, for example, if you click on this link -- http://demo.tizra.com/lu47g/13 -- you would proceed to page 13 in the online content reader, and it would not be important that Roman numeral “iii” is printed on the page. But, if having your digital page numbers match their printed counterpart is important, for example, for teachers assigning reading using multiple pagination schemes ("Read pages i-x and 1-20”), then having Logical Page numbers associated with each page of your PDF makes sense. To make sure that the PDF Logical Page Numbers upload properly into Tizra, follow the steps below: 1. IMPORTANT: Let Tizra know that you would like the Logical Page Number feature turned ON. Tizra needs to turn the Logical Page Number feature on in order for the logical page numbers to display correctly. 2. Create logical page numbers in the PDF. 3.
