Sizing Digitally Sourced and Scanned PDFs for Online Viewing We’ve found that PDF page size is simple to compute (total PDF size ÷ # of pages) and that it can be a useful tool when determining if problems might exist in a PDF. A PDF with a very large average page size may have issues, or at the very least -- have slow online page rendering. We’ve listed some typical page size guidelines below, based on both digitally sourced (not scanned) PDFs and scanned PDFs that are known to work well within Tizra. You can use these typical page sizes as a tool to help judge whether your PDFs are sized appropriately or may encounter page rendering issues. Important: These typical page sizes are guidelines and NOT definitive rules, as sometimes a PDF file can be large but work fine or small in size, but have a single complicated image that can cause problems.
