02 / An Alternative Learning Option for Associations For professional societies that need a simple way to offer basic learning opportunities, an LMS may be a heftier investment than necessary. An association’s educational efforts should be driven primarily by its members’ needs and the organization’s expertise, and not by a list of unneeded features. Many associations don’t need another software system. In fact, another system may only make things more difficult and more complicated. For these associations, there is a more seamless option: content delivery with basic interactivity and access control. Professional societies are already providing valuable content to their members. This content is often a mix of written materials, videos, slide decks, and interactive information. In many ways, it’s no different what they’d provide via an LMS.
