BENEFITS OF THE TIZRA PLATFORM Once the decision was made, Besteman’s digital team rolled up their sleeves and went to work on the deployment. Unlike many customers, who prefer to minimize impact on internal resources by having Tizra consultants manage the deployment, G-W wanted hands-on control of every aspect, with Tizra providing support in the form of training and product enhancements. Besteman was pleased by how quickly her team became productive with Tizra, particularly given earlier experiences with complex content management and learning management systems from other vendors. “Tizra’s admin controls are very intuitive and user friendly,” she says. And she was particularly impressed with how easily the integrated staging area let them preview their work in real-time. “The way it’s set up is beautiful,” she says. Despite an ambitious schedule, the deployment hit all its milestones and Besteman’s team executed a smooth handoff to Scheffers’ sales and marketing group. Scheffers’ first step was to ask his reps for a few pilot customers so they could gather feedback and recommend improvements. He was surprised at their enthusiasm. Where he’d expected 2-3 suggestions from each rep, he got an average of 10. “I think some of our customers were a bit shocked, because they’ve been asking our competitors for products like this and none of them have been able to deliver.” Scheffers backed up the initial sales effort by making the new Tizra- hosted products the focal point of their high school and college catalogs, which go out in large-scale mailings to teachers. They’ve also done innovative promotions like a social media campaigns around Digital Learning Day. The effort is still in its early stages, but Scheffers reports very good results so far, and has ambitious plans for the future. “We’ve worked out a 3-year marketing strategy with a consultant, and are planning on at least doubling sales every year,” he says.
