Setting up Access Control By default your site is set up so that unauthorized users cannot see your Documents, but they can see descriptive information such as Document Title, Author(s) and Tables of Contents. You can make the default settings more or less restrictive. Note: You can also vary Access Control on individual Documents, using the Display Table of Contents and/or the Show in Public Search and Indexes fields on the Document Properties screen and on individual Collections by using the User Availability and/or Control Homepage fields on the Collection Properties screen. 1. From the Tizra Control Panel, go to SETTINGS Access Control (Figure 2). Figure 2 2. In the Global Site Access Control field, select one of the following options: Open: There are no restrictions and anyone can see anything on your site. Block access to documents only: Unauthorized visitors can see your website pages and Abstracts, but not your Documents. If unauthorized visitors click on a Document, they will hit an Access Denied/Paywall screen with only a preview of the document. Block access to documents and metadata: Unauthorized visitors can see your website pages, but not your Abstracts or Documents. If unauthorized users try to click on a Document, they will hit a Access Denied/Paywall. Private: Unauthorized users cannot see any part of your website, including the home page. Unauthorized users will only get an Access Denied/Paywall page. Important Note: None of these options restricts AUTHORIZED User access. 3. Click Save and then click on the Testing link in the top right-hand corner of the Tizra Control Panel screen to see how your customers will view your site. Note: The Testing page helps you test the design of Paywall Pages within your site, because it presents your site as it would appear to an Unauthenticated Users. ! ! !
