Sort Value (Document Content) The Sort Value field (Figure 45) allows you to control the order of multiple PDFs (and other file types) in a Document. This might be useful if you uploaded multiple PDFs to a Document, but the PDFs were not uploaded in the order in which the PDFs are meant to be read. Not having PDFs in the correct order will also throw off the Document’s Table of Contents. For example: You may have one PDF called Frontmatter.pdf and another PDF called Chapter1.pdf. If you uploaded Chapter1.pdf first, it would appear at the top of the list of PDFs in the Document Content field AND in the Document’s Table of Contents. Additionally, when reading it online, Chapter1 would actually be displayed before the Frontmatter. To rearrange the PDFs, use the Sort Value field. To use the Sort Value field, enter a number FOR EVERY PDF YOU WISH TO REARRANGE. If you enter Sort Values for some PDFs, but not others, then those PDFs without Sort Value entries will appear at the beginning of your list of PDFs. This Document in the screen shot below contains four different PDFs with Sort Values entered for each (Figure 45): Figure 45 Clicking the Save button at the bottom of the Document Properties screen, rearranges the PDFs (Figure 46).
