Secure Referrer URL Access Overview Secure Referrer URLs allow you to grant Institutions access to your content without having to use IP Ranges. This might be useful if your customer does not give out IP Address Ranges, or if your customer’s end-users access content from varied locations and there is no way to enter all possible IP Addresses. Secure Referrer URLs allow you to selectively grant access to content hosted on a Tizra site, based on the fact that the end-user has access to another site. This essentially allows you to piggyback on your customer’s site access control system. It’s a two-step security process that makes sure your customers have a specific URL to access your content and confirms that end-user is coming in from a particular URL. The security level for Secure Referrer URLs is moderate, since it can be bypassed by users with enough technical knowledge to spoof the referrer field in http headers. But it is an excellent approach where speed, simplicity and user convenience are high priorities. Important Note: Before you can proceed with any steps listed in this documentation, please contact Tizra, as we’ll need to set up the Secure Referrer URL properties in SETTINGS Advanced Site Properties.
