Guidelines for PDF Upload to Tizra Uploading PDF files to your Tizra Publisher site is a straightforward process, and in the vast majority of cases, PDFs will work fine as-is, or with minimal preparation, as described below. PDFs should not be encrypted or locked. Required fonts should be embedded. Digitally sourced PDFs and scanned PDF files should be sized appropriately for online viewing. Text required for full-text search should be included in the PDF. Typically, text is already present in the PDF and you can confirm this by searching and finding any term contained within the PDF in Adobe (Reader or Acrobat). If you want the PDF’s Title and Author imported, Title and Author metadata should be entered in the PDF’s properties. If you want PDF Bookmarks imported as Table of Contents entries, see the What to do with PDF Bookmarks Before Tizra Upload section. If your PDFs contain hyperlinks, see the What to do with PDF Hyperlinks Before Tizra Upload section. If you want to use logical page numbering, see the What to do with Logical Page Numbers in the PDF Before Tizra Upload section. We’ve also outlined two PDF Optimizations for Tizra Upload, for those rare instances when we’ve seen issues with a PDF. Even if you are not experiencing issues with your PDF files in Tizra, you can always run these steps to help ensure best results when uploading and displaying PDFs in Tizra.
