Documents and Excerpts How To Guide A Document within the Tizra Publisher system will generally consist of one or more PDF files and, optionally, downloadable Attachments containing related material. The content of a Document might be anything from a 3-page technical paper, to an issue of a periodical to a reference book thousands of pages long. Attachments might be any kind of supplemental materials related to the Document, ranging from eReader downloads to presentations to data sets to videos or other multimedia. The Document Properties screen is where you can set and edit the Document’s metadata. Excerpts let you manage subsections of Documents in most of the same ways you can manage whole Documents. You can apply metadata and ecommerce Offers to them, enabling you to do things like sell individual chapters, or load a journal issue as a single PDF, while still displaying the articles separately. Excerpts also let you group subsections into Collections that cut across multiple documents, and generate downloadable PDF versions of complete Documents, or subsections. Excerpts do not appear in search results, as they are components of other Documents.
